2003
Membership hits record high of 640, with more than 375 venture capital professionals representing 135 member firms with $10 billion under management.
2002
Julia Spicer, formerly of Columbia Capital, joins as Executive Director.
2001
20 MAVA events held throughout the year are attended by more than 3,000.
2000
338 venture-backed companies in the Mid-Atlantic region secure a record $6.7 billion, almost double 1999 volume of $3.42 billion.
1999
Young Atlantic Venture Association (YAVA) is formed with only 5 members. YAVA has grown to include over 160 investment professionals from 86 venture firms in the Mid-Atlantic region.
1997
The Mid-Atlantic Region went to No. 3 in the country with entrepreneurial activity, behind Boston and Silicon Valley.
1990
The first Mid-Atlantic Venture Fair was held (later to be known as Capital Connection®).
1986
The Mid-Atlantic Venture Association was formed with three member firms and 4 service provider firms.
