Johns Hopkins student links physical therapy, tech

Rehabtics, a health IT company in Baltimore, is looking to change the way patients think about physical therapy.

Who it is: Johns Hopkins Ph.D. student Xiaoxu Kang launched Rehabtics in October 2012. The company is based at the ETC at Johns Hopkins Eastern and employs seven people.

What they do: Rehabtics is developing a software program that would allow patients to perform their physical therapy exercises at home, instead of having to travel to appointments at the hospital or a clinic.

How it works: The software program runs from a home computer.
