NEA-backed newBrandAnalytics Raises $5 Million

newBrandAnalytics Inc. has raised $5 million via sale of shares, warrants and preferred shares to six investors, according to an SEC filing.

The company, according to Crunchbase, has previously received $30 million from two rounds of funding with New Enterprise Associates, Steve Case’s Revolution LLC and The Entrepreneurs' Funds, of San Mateo, Calif. as lead investors.

Washington-based newBrandAnalytics is a social media monitoring and online reputation management tool that gathers operational social intelligence from online reviews and conversations. Its product suite include Online Reputation Management, Social Competitive Intelligence, Social Engagement, and Real-Time Customer Feedback tools.

newBrandAnalytics was founded in 2010 by Kam Desai, Neil Kataria and Ashish Gambhir. Desai is the vice president of products, and Kataria is the chairman.

Kristin Muhlner
, a veteran of 20 years in the software industry, is the CEO at newBrandAnalytics. Muhlner previously worked with companies like Rollstream, webMethods, Deloitte Consulting and Andersen Consulting.
