Apps4VA Launches High School Competition

The Herndon-based Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) on Friday launched the next phase of its Apps4VA Competition, in which Virginia public high school students can compete to develop apps aimed at improving education. An open competition also launched last month, with both that and the high school competition set to close on Nov. 15. The CIT also said it plans to announce details about a day of hack-a-thons taking place in Arlington, Charlottesville, Norfolk, Richmond and Roanoke/Blacksburg on Oct.19.
