Winner of Startup America Challenge Contest Earns Chance to Compete at TechBUZZ
Capital Connection’12, a nationally recognized technology industry conference, joined forces with the Startup America Partnership to offer a coveted spot as the 28th seed stage company to compete in TechBUZZ on May 23. The Startup America TechBUZZ Challenge Contest was held last week and the finalist was named at an event held Saturday afternoon, May 19.
The winner of Startup America TechBUZZ Challenge Contest is Cont3nt.com, a real-time marketplace for entrepreneurial media and visual journalism. Founded by media-techy Anton Gelman and news-cameraman Daniel Shaw, Cont3nt.com enables ecommerce for breaking news, and allows a reporter in Libya, Syria or Occupy Wall Street to sell their videos and photos to the BBC or their local paper and have them published in a half-hour. Sales happen in real-time to any media company worldwide through the Cont3nt.com platform, email or a 3-click purchase via Twitter.

This TechBUZZ Challenge Contest was held for registered members of the Startup America Partnership from the Mid-Atlantic States. To enter, participants were required to submit a one-minute original pitch video. The winner of the contest joins 27 visionary innovators and company-builders that are competing to be named “Best of the BUZZ” and earn a chance to pitch in front of the entire Capital Connection audience on May 24 in the TechBUZZ Showdown. The audience will be polled in real time, via mobile devices, to vote for their favorite TechBUZZ competitor during the TechBUZZ Showdown, with a winner being announced during the closing reception of Capital Connection’12.
