Center for Innovative Technology Invests in Reston-Based SL8Z

The Herndon-based Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) said it has invested an unspecified amount in Reston-based SL8Z, developer of an online marketplace for crowdsourced recruiting. The investment came from CIT's GAP Funds, which make seed-stage equity investments in Virginia-based technology, clean tech and life sciences companies. Glenn Fox, the founder and managing partner of SL8Z, said his company will use the backing to "help us to hire additional account executives and drive market traction." The company's marketplace connects employers recruiting for professional- and executive-level positions to a vetted community of independent recruiters. The platform is designed to be an alternative to traditional retained or contingency-based recruiting.
