JMI Equity Promotes Brian Hersman to GP

JMI Equity, a growth equity firm focused on investing in leading software and technology-enabled services companies, announced the promotion of Brian Hersman to General Partner. Mr. Hersman is based in San Diego.

Mr. Hersman joined JMI Equity in 2008 and most recently served as a Principal at the firm. He currently is a member of the boards of directors of Innovative Interfaces, a provider of library automation software and systems, and PowerPlan, a provider of asset-centric accounting, tax, budgeting and analytics software solutions for asset-intensive businesses. He was also previously a director of BigMachines, a provider of Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions that help companies automate and streamline complex sales processes acquired by Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) in November 2013.

Prior to joining JMI, Mr. Hersman was a Senior Associate at Vista Equity Partners and a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company. He received a BA in Economics and Computer Science from Case Western Reserve University, an MS in Management of Information Systems from the Weatherhead School at Case Western Reserve University, and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
