20 AREA START-UPS TO TAKE THE STAGE AT TECHBUZZ SUMMER 2014
AgTech, Cyber, eCommerce, EdTech, Media, and Hospitality Among Sectors Represented

WASHINGTON, DC, June 3, 2014—As part of an ongoing program to celebrate and accelerate East Coast innovators and company-builders, MAVA will highlight a select group of 20 startups at its second of three TechBUZZ events in 2014. The TechBUZZ Summer 2014 event will be held at AOL (Seriff Auditorium) on June 18th in Dulles, Virginia.  Each company will take the public stage to share their story in front of an audience of investors, technology executives and fellow entrepreneurs. These 20 seed and early stage presenters represent a sample of some of the most highly innovative endeavors being built today.

Presenting companies were selected from a competitive pool of diverse startups from across the region by a MAVA industry group of active investors and business advisors. The startups chosen for formal presentation slots will each take the stage for four minutes to describe their respective company, business vision, and product or service.

“As this TechBUZZ line-up demonstrates, entrepreneurs are pushing the boundaries in building innovative, viable commercial solutions,” said Julia Spicer, Executive Director of MAVA. “We are seeing entrepreneurs put together teams and attack problems across an increasingly broad range of industry sectors and verticals, from eCommerce to EdTech; in the financial, agriculture and hospitality sectors;  and at the enterprise as well as the consumer level. All of this is reflected here at TechBUZZ.”

TechBUZZ Summer 2014 reflects the growth of startups in the greater Mid-Atlantic region, which has become ground zero for many of the newest ideas, game-changing innovations, and cutting-edge applications of technology in recent years. This year, companies from nascent to seed stage will present ideas from a number of hot technology sectors to their peers and potential partners or investors.

The 20 technology companies to be on stage for the TechBUZZ event at AOL are:
